Punish the Good Samaritan?
I remember discussing issues like this in my Introduction to Law course. Is this really what the world has come to? "If you help, but don't help me quite right, I am going to sue you!" Seriously? Of course, we all hope our Good Samaritan will use their best judgement in a tragic circumstance, but anyone willing to risk their life to help another should be considered a hero, not a criminal.

Sounds like a case of someone who is just angry with their circumstance. If a judge actually ruled AGAINST the good samaritan, we'll be in a world of hurt. Yet another part of our world that is broken...
